Bicycle Donation - Bikes for the World

Bikes for the World works with community service organizations and local jurisdictions in the Chesapeake and Potomac regions to collect unwanted bicycles and put them to good use overseas, providing affordable transportation facilitating access to jobs, education, and health services for thousands of the poor. Bikes for the World welcomes donations of bikes from individuals and institutions, such as apartment buildings, condo/co-op associations, police departments, and bicycle retailers. Bikes for the World partners with community service organizations, such as churches, synagogues, Rotary clubs, and Scout troops, to sponsor one-time public events to receive donations of bikes from the public. Bikes for the World is comprised of hundreds of volunteers and a single salaried employee, collecting and shipping more than 6,000 bicycles annually.
