Free Market - Rhode Island Resource Recovery
The Free Market Rhode Island is a listing service connecting free, reusable items with people who want them. It is part of an effort to reduce the amount of reusable goods being thrown away. The Free Market Rhode Island is a project of the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation. The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation is the state environmental agency dedicated to providing the public with environmentally sound programs and facilities to manage solid waste. The Free Market website allows you to see what items people in your community are looking for or what items people have to give away, and how to reach them so you can make an exchange. You can add your wanted or available items to the list, so you can be contacted by someone who has an item that you need or someone who is interested in an item you have to give away. Listings include everything from bed frames to dryers to pianos. Please visit the Free Market site to learn more or contact Paul Caccia at paulC@rirrc.org.

ResourceXchange - Rhode Island Resource Recovery
The ResourceXchange is a free program designed to help businesses find markets for non-hazardous materials that have been traditionally discarded. ResourceXchange helps businesses, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies save resources and money. The program conserves energy, resources, and landfill space by helping businesses and organizations find alternatives to the disposal of valuable materials or wastes. The ResourceXchange can assist you, and ultimately your bottom line, by: 1) Reducing recurring disposal costs. 2) Finding reusable items and feedstock materials at little to no cost. 3) Mitigating storage and staff expenses. 4) Enhancing the environmental image of companies. 5) Achieving corporate and community environmental goals. The end result is that your expenses go down, your image is enhanced, and the amount of discards entering the landfill is reduced thereby minimizing environmental impact. hi: is there any organization private or otherwise that i could get in touch with regarding the environmental polution that has occurred with the renovation of the greystone mill complex here in n. providence. i’ve alerted all sorts of governmental agencies and they are in there doing their thing, but nothing actually was accomplished in trying to stem urban smart growth from calif. as they renovated the mill, causing air polution throughout the community. by the time EPA moved, the situation was controlled by urban smart growth. they knew what moves to make, knew what the short comings of each governmental agency were and took steps to control any counter moves by them. thanks for any recommendations
