North Dakota Forest Service

The ND Forest Service provides 2-hour workshops for K-12 teachers and “Project Learning Tree” recycling curriculum. Economic development grant funds are also available for the start-up of small recycling businesses that utilize wood waste (dead trees, trimmed branches, old buildings, etc.) to help enable the reduction of hazardous fuel build-ups around communities. Grant funds are also available to be used by public schools or large institutions to purchase a wood pellet/chip burning furnace or retro-fit a coal furnace into a wood pellet/chip burning furnace.
