The Used Oil Recycling Game
To play, print the picture at right and follow these instructions.
- Cut off the white paper around the edges.
- With the printed side down, fold each corner to the center point.
- Turn the folded paper over so the loose flaps are facing down.
- Once again fold each corner to the center point.
- Fold in half and crease to make a rectangle (not a triangle), then unfold and fold in half the opposite direction, still making a rectangle, and crease again.
- Using both hands, place thumbs and index fingers under flaps.
- Push toward the center until a pyramid shape forms.
- This game is for two players. Put the game on your hands and ask your friend to pick one of the solid squares, for example “Recycle.” Open and close the game in an alternating direction for each letter of the word: R-e-c-y-c-l-e.
- Have your friend pick a number and try to guess how the picture relates to used oil. Lift the flap to find the answer.
- Now give the game to your friend and it’s your turn to guess!
- Everyone wins by learning about recycling used oil and protecting the environment.
