The Berenstain Bears Don’t Pollute (Anymore)
Lesson Plan Extensions
The following are some good lesson plans to implement while reading The Berenstain Bears Don’t Pollute (Anymore):
Concepts: pollution prevention, environmental activism
- Form an Earthsavers club of your own. Identify environmental projects such as starting a recycling program (recycle aluminum cans with your class to raise funs to adopt a manatee, sea turtle or other endangered species), a litter patrol and/or take time to write a local, state or national governmental figure about an environmental concern you have.
- Set up a scavenger hunt for litter to make cleaning up your schoolyard more interesting. Make graphs of the types and amounts of materials you find. Determine what percentage of the items are recyclable.
- Check out some of the Earth 911 sections below to see what you can learn about keeping the environment clean and Making Every Day Earth Day™!
