One World
Lesson Plan Extensions
The following are some good lesson plans to implement while reading One World:
Concepts: air/water pollution, preserving ecosystems, oil pollution
- Discuss how a single drop of oil can pollute an entire water supply and discuss the proper disposal of oil (See links below).
- Compare this book with other nature books that show “pristine” environments and discuss how pollution could be effecting these as well.
- Discuss what the sign “take only photographs, leave only footprints” seen at many of our state and national parks means. Create a photo journal of a nature outing.
- Explore through Earth 911 what you can do to keep our air and water clean (see links below).
