Earth 911 Terms and Conditions - Content Development

The following terms and conditions shall apply to anyone creating and submitting stories, articles or other writings and/or graphics, audio or video, hereinafter referred to as “content” to the Earth 911 Web site. These terms and conditions may be modified by Earth 911 without prior notice.

1. Working Relationship - The development and provision of content by persons for Earth 911 in no way implies an employee-employer relationship with Earth 911 or its parent company Global Alerts LLC. Earth 911 will not be held responsible for any compensation or benefits given to any person providing content to Earth 911 or Global Alerts LLC. Earth 911 reserves the right to terminate its relationship with any person providing content at any time without cause.

2. Earth 911 Neutrality - A crucial element of Earth 911’s success as a public/private partnership is its policy to remain a neutral content provider. Earth 911 maintains a neutral position on environmentally relevant subjects and does not take sides on environmental issues. In all instances, Earth 911 reserves the right to review, and modify or otherwise control all content submitted by public and private partners for the web and phone system.

3. Earth 911 Partner Visibility - Earth 911 is a unique public/private partnership. Partner visibility is important to Earth 911 and it is provided in a variety of ways to suit the partner and Earth 911 via the Web site, phone system, media communication, social campaigns, promotions and education/outreach. Due to the importance of maintaining strong and credible relationships with our public sector partners, Earth 911 will not advertise a specific company product on the website or phone system. Persons providing content shall not cause the the direct or overt advertising of any product or service. Earth 911 shall have complete discretion as to what constitutes advertising in relation to any content provided to it.

4. Content Ownership - Any content submitted to the Earth 911 website becomes the exclusive property of Earth 911, a division of Global Alerts LLC, and may be used in any form by Earth 911. Persons submitting content to the Earth 911 Web site must receive permission from Earth 911 before releasing content developed for Earth 911 in any other form of media.

5. Content Accuracy - All persons contributing content to Earth 911 shall be responsible for, and shall make every effort for, verification of the accuracy of content prior to submission to Earth 911. This includes (but is not limited to) verifying validity of any URL cited, checking all facts and statistics, referencing any secondary sources quoted, seeking approval from any primary sources quoted, and verifying the copyright restrictions of any images submitted. 6. Content Modification - Earth 911 reserves the right to edit or otherwise modify any content submitted for purposes of length, accuracy, style or grammar/punctuation. Earth 911 reserves the right to add or edit graphics for any content submitted.

7. Contributor Promotion - All persons submitting content to Earth 911 shall be eligible to place a one-sentence signature or “by-line” with said content to promote themselves and may include a link to a website specifically promoting the content provider and the email address of the content provider. All signatures must be approved in advance by Earth 911 and must comply with the Earth 911 neutrality and Earth 911 partner visibility terms outlined above.
