Portland Holds Free Electronics Recycling Event

Sony Electronics and Waste Management Recycle America are partnering to offer a free electronics recycling event at the Portland Metropolitan Exposition Center on Saturday, August 23.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and consumers will be able to drop off any Sony products to be recycled by Waste Management. The first 2,000 participants will receive a free cloth tote.

Sony is encouraging residents to bring in TVs for recycling, especially ones that may become obsolete when the digital switch happens in February.

You can find locations and events to recycle electronics near you using Earth911.
