Nokia Plants A Tree For Every Cell Phone Recycled
A Nokia Malasia program launched in July plants one tree for every old The Edge Daily.
Phones of all brands are accepted at the various kiosks involved in the program. Consumers who drop off old mobiles will later be contacted with instructions on how to see the tree planted in their name via Google Earth.
Nokia has pledged to plant 100,000 trees in Sebangau National Park in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The program will be tested for six months in four kiosks located around Klang Valley. If successful, more kiosks will be placed throughout the country.
