Automatic car washes use less than half the water used by a home car washer, according to the International Car Wash Association.
It’s more eco-friendly to use a commercial car wash, but if you must wash at home, decrease water usage:
- Use an adjustable hose nozzle
- Don’t wash in direct sunlight
- Wash over dirt or lawn to absorb the extra water
