Video Teaches Recycling Basics in Spanish
by Ashley Schiller on June 19th, 2008
The amount of waste generated per person in Park City, a vacation hot spot in Utah, is three times the national average. The tourism industry is the cause of the low recycling rates, according to Recycle Utah.
In an effort to improve the dreary statistic, Recycle Utah is boosting up their efforts and have created a Spanish-language instructional video to help Spanish-speaking residents understand the basics of recycling, reports the Park Record.
The video covers a variety of topics, including a visit to the landfill and a local restaurant, where the reuse and recycle program is highlighted. The video also explains how to dispose of household hazardous materials.
Other efforts to decrease waste in Park City include in-room recycling in some hotels.
