Yellow Recycling Bins Decorate Denver

Ten bright yellow recycling bins now decorate the walkway along the 16th Street Mall in Denver, Colorado, according to the Denver Post.

The Downtown Denver Business Improvement District placed the bins Wednesday. They can be used for paper, plastic and glass.

The effort is part of the goal to make the Democratic National Convention in August “the greenest ” in history, Mayor John Hickenlooper told the Post.

It is hoped that the bins will not only clean up the city, but also promote recycling at home.

“There’s no doubt that the more you make recycling programs more visible, it has an impact on people with recycling at home,” Tamara Door, Downtown Denver Partnership President, said.
