EPA Recognizes Students’ Commitment to Environment

The EPA today presented the annual President’s Environmental Youth Awards (PEYA) to celebrate students involved in such issues as lead, recycling, water quality monitoring, air pollution and carbon footprints.
One winner was announced from each of the EPA’s 10 regions. Awards were presented by President George W. Bush and EPA Administrator Stephen L. Johnson at the White House Rose Garden.
Information about each winner and project is available on the EPA site. PEYA has been presented annually since 1971.
