Pennsylvania to Help Residents Recycle CFLs

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is providing free buckets throughout its counties for Pennsylvanians to drop off their compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs) for free recycling.
The DEP sent letters to 727 municipalities offering buckets and prepaid postage to dispose of these bulbs, which contain about five milligrams each of mercury. So far, 62 municipalities have responded to the letter.
Over 110 containers were purchased, and each can hold approximately 100 CFLs. There’s no word yet on when the buckets will be available.
