Children’s Sunglasses Recalled for Lead Paint Content

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of 144,000 StyleMark children’s sunglasses because they contained excessive levels of lead.

The affected glasses have Main Street Drag characters on one lens, and style number DI25K7116 printed on the left temple. They have been sold at drug stores including Payless, Walgreen’s, Academy Sports, and CVS since October 2007.

If you’ve purchased a pair of these glasses, contact StyleMark at (866) 928-1913 to return them for a free replacement pair. Avoid throwing these glasses in the garbage, because their lead content can contaminate soil and water if landfilled.

Speaking of lead, did you know that several lipsticks contain lead content? The Daily Green has posted a list of several that don’t.
