San Jose Residents Can Recycle Electronics This Saturday

Silicon Valley obsolete electronics can be recycled for free this Saturday, March 8 at the Best Buy located at 5065 Almaden Expressway in San Jose.
The event will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and is being facilitated by Electronic Recyclers International. Residents can drop off computers and accessories, televisions and cell phones to be recycled. Proceeds from the collection drive will support Goodwill of Silicon Valley’s Institute for Career Development (ICD).
In California, it is illegal to dispose of e-waste in the trash because it contains hazardous materials like lead and mercury. They also contain valuable resources such as metal, plastic and glass that can be recycled or reused.
