Cadbury Reduces Egg Packaging by 20 Percent

With Easter less than a month away, Cadbury has unveiled a new “eco-egg” product called Cadbury Treasure Eggs, which will be packaged solely in foil instead of plastic or cardboard.

The eggs will still be transported to stores in a plastic tray with cardboard covering. But this packaging will fit 10 eggs, whereas other Cadbury products are individually wrapped. The overall packaging reduction will be 20 percent.

Cadbury has committed to reducing its Easter product packaging by 25 percent as part of its Purple Goes Green campaign. The company hopes to meet these goals by 2020.
