Kraft Foods Named Food Sponsor of RecycleBank

RecycleBank and Kraft Foods have announced a partnership to increase the 33 percent recycling rate in the U.S. by rewarding households that recycle with credits to be used on Kraft products.

RecycleBank has partnered with large companies such as Coca-Cola as well as regional companies. Participating households receive a cart embedded with an RFID (radio frequency identification) chip that reads and records the amount each household recycles.

Households then receive RecycleBank Points that can be used with more than 400 partners on the RecycleBank site. Kraft brands that will be offered include DiGiorno pizza, Yuban coffee, Kraft Grated Parmesan cheese and Kraft Salad Dressings.

RecycleBank offers this service in more than 35 municipalities throughout Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Vermont, and is looking to expand nationally later this year. To find curbside recycling in your area, use Earth 911’s recycling locator.
