Muncie Tries Out Eco-Clothing
IndyStar.com reports that Muncie Sanitary District (MSD) has received a $5,000 grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to purchase jackets, T-shirts and polo shirts for its employees made of recycled content.
The shirts will be made from recycled clothing scraps, while the fleece jackets will be produced using recycled plastic bottles. All the items will display a “100 percent recycled logo” on the sleeve.
The MSD will be providing the clothing to each of its 140 employees, and hopes the trend will catch on with other city uniforms.
