RBRC Reports 12 Percent Increase in Battery Recycling in 2007
The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) collected and recycled more than 6.3 million pounds of rechargeable batteries in the U.S. and Canada through its Call2Recycle program in 2007.
The RBRC credits several programs for the 12 percent increase in collection, including Circuit City’s battery recycling campaign, New York’s Rechargeable Battery Law that was passed in 2006 and New Mexico’s Recycling Awareness Month that featured a call to recycle rechargeable batteries.
