Survey Says Higher Energy Costs Expected to Reduce Holiday Spending
Forbes.com features the results of the eighth annual survey on holiday spending conducted by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), and this year higher energy costs are having an impact on what people are spending.
Almost 38 percent of the 1,000 Americans polled said energy cost increases would somewhat or greatly affect their purchases, up from 32 percent last year. Consumers also cited energy prices more than current finances as a reason to spend less on gifts in 2007.
