New Law Will Require Bar, Restaurant Owners to Recycle

WWAY reports that Wilmington, North Carolina will enforce a new law starting in January requiring bars and restaurants to recycle aluminum and glass alcohol containers in bins provided by the city.
Owners will be billed for the pick-up service, and those who don’t comply will be fined by alcohol law enforcement agents. Downtown Wilmington has about 60 bars and restaurants that will be affected.
The positive to these businesses is that their trash bills will likely be reduced, as the city estimates that 10 to 12 tons of beverage containers are disposed of each week. Check out Earth 911’s Aluminum Recycling section to learn more on the benefits of aluminum recycling.
