California Wildfires Burn Through the Night
Electronic News Network reports on the continued wildfires blazing through California, which have already destroyed 700 homes and displaced hundreds of thousands of people.
The fire count is up to 13, reaching from Santa Barbara to Mexico and burning over 200,000 acres. The fires are being spread quickly by the Santa Ana winds blowing through California over the past few days.
Another factor in the start and spread of the fires could be scientists are saying that warmer temperatures create a more ideal condition for wildfires to start.
One factor that isn’t receiving much coverage is that many houses contain household hazardous items that are ignitable in some instances and help spread house fires.
