Thousands of Dollars up For Grabs by Students Who Recycle

The Truro Daily News reports on the Eighth Annual Nova Scotia Recycles Contest, where students compete for $50,000 prizes in addition to scholarships.

Contests are based on the three R’s (recycle, reduce and reuse) as well as composting. Interested applicants can develop advertising or essays, with winners recognized at regional ceremonies in February.

You’ll find a clearinghouse of information on grants, scholarships and other similar opportunities on the George Lucas Education Foundation’s website. Here’s a direct link: http://www.edutopia.org/grantinfo

I know I’m forwarding this link to the environmental club advisors at my daughter’s school!
