Lead Poisoning Awareness Week

Lead Poisoning Awareness Week celebrates the anniversary of the first article on childhood lead poisoning, which was published October 20, 1897. It is designed to highlight the importance of educating parents and children about the dangers of lead exposure.

Although lead exposure has been reduced over the last few decades, this week is celebrated around the world with programs and events put on by states and communities. For a breakdown of activities in the United States, visit the Environmental Protection Agency’s website.
