Kerbside Recycle Service Starts
by Earth 911 on October 22nd, 2007
The Southland Times features a story on today’s start of a kerbside (aka curbside) recycling program in the Wakatipu, which coincides with New Zealand’s Labor Day.
The service will run on the same day as normal trash collection, with a separate 240-liter recycling bin to be placed next to the trash bin. Residents have been reminded not to stockpile recycling and overload the bins on the first week.
Aukland City will begin kerbside service in 2008 with a similar program. For more information on curbside programs, visit Earth 911’s Curbside Recycling page.
