Resale value on new furniture can be as low as 25 percent. Before you go shopping for that brand new chair or couch, consider buying used because of the potential short- and long-term savings. Other benefits to buying used furniture:
- It’s already assembled, unlike new furniture you buy in a box
- Furniture that ends up in landfills takes up more space than most other garbage
- You won’t be stuck with lots of packaging that is difficult to recycle
Check your local goodwill or Craigslist for used furniture options in your area.
