American Rivers presents the National River Cleanup will take place June 2-10, 2007
Founded in 1973, American Rivers is a national non-profit conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring healthy natural rivers for the benefit of people, fish, and wildlife. American Rivers is proud to present National River Cleanup Week, the most popular and successful nationwide stream cleanup program.
Since the launch of this annual event by America Outdoors in 1991, more than 500,000 volunteers have participated in over 4,500 cleanups across the country, covering over 100,000 miles of waterways.
Over the past 15 years, these cleanups have removed over 1,000 tons of litter and debris from America’s rivers and streams.
