This year’s Good And Green Conference, which will take place November 29-30, 2007 at the Chicago Cultural Center, will bring together experts in the world of social media and blogging to argue that the Internet has helped drive the environmental movement from niche audiences into more mainstream discussions.

“Consumer participation online is blurring the distinction between advertising and content,” says David Wigder, Senior Vice President for Digitas and Good and Green panel participant. “Arguably, marketers of green products are in a better position to tap into this consumer enthusiasm than marketers of traditional products because, for many, green is not just
about a product or brand, but also a social cause. Marketers must tap into this enthusiasm credibly, however, or they risk accusations of ‘greenwashing’.”

Good and Green will include speaker-led discussion groups on topics such as “The Greener Side of The Female Consumer” and “The Potential (and Pitfalls) of Green Marketing Strategies.” For more information on green business, visit Earth 911’s Business Resources page.
