BP-Castrol

CastrolBP Lubricants USA Inc. markets premium Castrol lubricants and business-building programs directly to independent lube operators, service providers, new car dealers and leading retailers. The company aims to drive down the environmental and health impact of its operations by reducing waste/emissions and using natural resources responsibly.

Partnership with Earth911.com

Earth911.com and BP Lubricants have been partnering since 1997 on a program license partnership. BP and Castrol products carry the Earth911.com and 1-800-CLEANUP calls to action to encourage proper disposal of these products.

BP also features the Earth 911 recycling locator on its site. This allows consumers to search for more than 12,000 locations that accept used motor oil and other car fluids.

According to the U.S. EPA, over 40 percent of U.S. oil pollution comes from the improper disposal of used motor oil by “do-it-yourself” (DIY) auto mechanics. One gallon of improperly disposed motor oil can contaminate one million gallons of freshwater.

The database also provides information on recycling BP and Castrol containers. The same information is available using the bilengual 1-800-CleanUp hotline.
