BP Lubricants USA Inc. markets premium Castrol lubricants and business-building programs directly to independent lube operators, service providers, new car dealers and leading retailers. The company aims to drive down the environmental and health impact of its operations by reducing waste/emissions and using natural resources responsibly.

Partnership with Earth911.com

In December 2007 BP-Castrol joined with Earth911.com in growing the national database of oil recycling locations for Do It Yourself (DIY) oil changers. In December that database consisted of 23,000 municipal and commercial locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Through this extended partnership Earth911.com has been able to add more than 12,000 additional locations to the database and has received updates from nearly 10,000 of the current locations (adding or correcting information like items accepted or hours of operation). In addition, through this process Earth911.com has begun creation of an automated IT solution that allows companies to send updates at regular intervals automatically to the system.

These improvements have dramatically reduced the average distance between an Earth911.com visitor and his/her nearest motor oil recycling location, from 2.1 miles to a mere 1.2 miles.
